In vitro MG149 richt zich op de acetyl-CoA bindingsplaats en remt de Histone Acetyltransferase activiteit van nucleair extract uit weefselmonsters van verschillende hersengebieden bij muizen. Deze verbinding remt ook de p53- en de NF-κB-routes.
